Holiday ?
There you are. Were you camping out there? How are the fish running?
Did you cook any over a bonfire on the beach?
that sand trap has a really strange shape...my mind wanders off into dark places looking at it. hee hee.
Haha, never thought of that.
Jozee, its in the old town of Singapore, Michigan near Saugatuck. Apparantly the whole town is buried under sand now.
No, didnt have any bonfires. It was a 40 mins dune ride.
Funny how men's brains work.
it looked like a heart to me.
What happened there A?
How did town get buried?
In the old days, the sand dunes shifted because of the wind. They buried the whole town of Singapore (atleast thats what the driver told me). Then some organization by the name of CCC planted grass all over the hundreds of acres to prevent the dunes from shifting. Now they're stationary.

Hey, Thanks.
I'm guessing driving on the actual dunes is not allowed. (I hope). Our coastal dunes are protected that way here.
They (the ride company) own the land. So, they drive that vehicle (with 15+ passengers) on the dunes. It was more like a roller coaster ride. But not that intense.
The driver stopped at various places on the trail and explained the history and the science behind the dunes. It was cool :)
