Des frites! Aurais-je raté les frites! Where are thoses belgium fries! I just know the french ones, not the belgium ones yet! With mayonnaise... Mmmmmmmm! Miam! Miam!
And I'm pretty sure France didnt oppose it. It was because the French were opposed to the war on Iraq, the US politicians wanted the name changed to freedom fries.
From slate.com: - Henceforth, french fries and French toast will no longer be served in the cafeterias of the House of Representatives' three office buildings. Instead, the cafeterias will offer "freedom fries" and "freedom toast." It has been so decreed by Rep. Bob Ney, an Ohio Republican who chairs the committee on House administration. No word yet on whether the House similarly plans to adopt the neologisms "freedom horn," "freedom doors," "freedom kissing," and "freedom tickler."

The french have no fries i dont know why they call it French fries !!
Back in the olden days, instead of potatoes, they used to make these fries out of French people. Hence the name.

why not just call them effing fries and get it done with.
try the scottish way though...'chips' with curry and cheese! yummmm...
I'm pretty sure they're still called french fries. They were trying to change the name to freedom fries, but failed.
And I'm pretty sure France didnt oppose it. It was because the French were opposed to the war on Iraq, the US politicians wanted the name changed to freedom fries.
