alright! clo provided the maximilist version, i the midilist [not a word!] version; and here is Cal with the minimalist version. a set!

Very cool; your image likely informed my finding something interesting about the hook on my door--then my attemt to capture it.

I would say that mine and Calvin's are more formalist. And that yours, Chris, is more a pic of atmosphere...

Does that means that I'm right?
Hmmm, "hit it right on the head", hope it's not something to hurt somebody...

You americans have some strange expressions... :O)

uh oh. they are talking photography lingo again. i don't know what formalist means! i must admit i've never even looked at a book or magazine on photography; nor have i taken actual art classes post highschool. i just realized this gives me a really good alibi re: my photos..

Clo, that expression is not as violent as it sounds.
It refers to hammering a nail.

When one swings and hits the nail on the first try, it's right on the head.

So understaing the point right away is likened to hitting the nail on the head.

Oh! The head of the nail! I thought Calvin was talking about the head of Chris! LOL Thanks Jo! You always explain things so well!

And Chris, formalism just means that the photo is expressing something about the form, it don't tell a story, or express a particular feeling or mood. In that sense, I think that your photo of hook, mostly because of the intimate light, have a special feeling in it.

But all those pics are very interresting, even if it looks like....
;O))))))
