very nice composition ... but i would say a bit to greenish (?)
that may be, ratzfatz. i'm working with my laptop monitor and it has the habit of imperfection in color and brightness display. when i edit my fotos they look fine on my monitor; and then when i check them on another, they are 'too green'. really annoying. it is supposed to be really greenish, but, likely not as it is being displayed. i'll have a look at it on a different monitor and repost if i think it needs it. thanks for mentioning it, ratzfatz.
Madam Jenn, i use a horribly cheap sony camera. the one thing i insisted on, however, was the manual settings. i ALWAYS shoot manually. every shot involves adjustment of ISO, f number and shutterspeed. when i bought my first cam [about 4 months ago?], this one, i knew nothing about photography or these adjustments. but my unhappiness with point and shoot mode forced me to learn quickly.
Chris ... I would say the technic things are not soooo important. Do you have very good eyes for the moments and for the composition and that´s is it. Your fotos are always very nice!!!!
Yeh ... working with laptops is very difficult.

Yes, LCD screens are notoriously difficult to calibrate. Check out this link for test patterns and software:

Love the pic the way I'm seeing it whether it's considered too greenish or not.
Though- I am viewing it on a laptop.
i checked the image via a desktop with an [obviously] external monitor. a little more saturated than i had intended; but the colors? pretty close as well. it wasn't my intent to depict this scene superrealistically, but rather to depict how it all impacted me when i was out there. it was rich out there that night ['twas shot around midnight].
yur right, ratzfatz, the post editing isn't as important as what i accomplished on the spot with the camera in hand [or upon 3 legged amigo]. thanks a lot for your comments. i don't consider myself an artist or photographer and it is really interesting for me to hear that sometimes i do alright!
ah! thanks for the link gary. i have already made my way through it and am having a little difficulty finding software that works with this laptop, specifically, with the installed driver. the driver, supposedly doesn't support a 'lookup table'. until that gets sorted out, i think i will carry out all editing and adjustments on an external display.
josie, you probably see roughly what i see. thank you..
Hey chris this fits in my green banks blog !!!
feel free to do so, henri.
Anyone who creates is an artist, anyone who makes a photograph is a photographer.
You may not consider yourself either, but in fact you are both.
Bad ass. Great shot Chris. :)
heh. thanks, calvin. i'm getting there.
*he scrambles for a counterexample*
paul: suppose i am taking steps as i walk about. foot up, foot down; left, right. and suppose the sidewalks are made up of grapes. further, suppose that these grapes are squished upon my walking and that the liquid product seeps into the sewers where it is all collected into a huge vat wherein it is boiled etc. and eventually turned into wine. is it really apt to say that i, just a fellow walking upon the sidewalk, am a wine producer?
that counterexample is likely to make people think i'm on drugs. oups.
i have much to say about all of this, more reasonable things i assure. but this is not the space in which to do it.
quickly. it seems that to call me an artist places an emphasis that i do not think is apt. it is not the way i want to live. it seems to emphasize what is produced and not how one lives. it seems to emphasize an image and not what the image does portray.
i'm an artist* not an artist. one lass out there knows of what i speak. perhaps i made her giggle.
And that statement my friend proves you are a real artist.
Chris independent of the green scale of your picture... that you said was a mistake... i likede so much!!! i´ll came back more times... it´s because i´m in final exames at college so... you know what usally happen ...
beuatifull pic!!! i love then
I did it
Love it, nice green, Dali style! :)
I love all the green. I like the bench, like it's calling my name, "Here I am, come sit with me".
Perfect spot to stop, and think.
