do you know what those 3 vertical windowlike things are in the photo of the nun's cell? i've never seen anything like that.

Hi Christopher.
I'think that the cell that you ask about was the water cell.
The windows was to put in the empty and take out the full earthenware jar (with spout and handle for drinking).
Each nun has each earthenware jar with her name.
