Rudbeckia hirta. Family of asteraceae... A very strong flower. Many flowers in this family. See on Wikipedia. I didn't know the name in English. Poetic! In French we simply call them Rudbeckia... Many colours in this family. My fav is the pink one with an orange center. The Echinacea Purpura (purple cone flower). It's used in homeopatic medecine to enhance the immune system. Good to prevent the flu... I suggest that very often to my patients... Heh heh... (This was a free lesson from the pharmacist)...
Thanks MP, I have echinacea too and I've inflicted the tincture on my kids from time to time.
Didn't realize these were rudbeckia .
I used to have red and yellow ones from my mom but they've disappeared from the landscape. Winterkill, I guess. Going to look at pink and orange now...thanks!

So beautiful!
Maybe there's a regional diffference in the name since that's the common name and not the latin . *shrug*
