Technology Update

Picasa 2.5 is now available. I upgraded yesterday. There are some cosmetic improvements and cool new features: You can change the flat folder view to a tree view; you can save your edits without "Exporting"; you can geotag and view your photos in Google Earth; you get 250Mb of storage on the new Picasa Web Albums.

If you use Picasa, check it out. If not, well, why not? Posted by Picasa

Will all old pics be transferred or will this have to be done manually?

It's automatic. The upgraded version will find your old pics along with their keywords, captions, stars, collections etc. However it will rebuild all of the thumbnails, which can take some time if you have a lot of photos. (The new thumbnails are slightly bigger and more detailed.)
