i'm not really a fan of this photo, but it's been sitting on my desktop for a few weeks now, and to sort of 'make it go away' i'm posting it. hehe. this is odd.
your words, mb, might suggest a better crop. gracias, muchachita!
paul: burn the foreground a bit maybe? the pedestrian walking in a blur on the left side is necessary for the shot, i think, so i can't crop the lower portion. there was something about the shot that bothered me, though, i agree. let me know what you think. and thank you, too.
I think you were trying to keep the blurred and unblurred cars as a reference but they really aren't needed. My crop uses the negative space at the top and the lines from the left and right to pull the eye of the viewer through the people walking to the blurred area.
hehzer: thank-you, and i assure that none had babies' hands in their mouths!
paul: i am deeply offended. i kid, of course. i crave this sort interaction regarding my work or the work of others [it is tricky (impossible) to initiate the latter]. now.. you are absolutely right regarding my keeping the cars as reference. My issue with your crop is that by cutting away too much of the single pedestrian on the lower left, their presence is sort of lost in the image. This crop seems to bring focus to the crowd crossing; i sort of liked the tension between that single individual and the throng that the individual would soon encounter.
i agree that your crop moves in the right direction, though. thanks a lot for the input.

I like the contrast of left vs right and the distortion. Has a surreal, weird dreamy feel to it. I would call it "Blinded by the Light"
Cool
A bit much foreground but cool

I didn't recognize the shadow on the left as a person.
I guess that would change things.
Very nice shots!!
You're a talent and sensitive photographer.
I love your work.
