--The scene reminds me of the grey stretch of water across Monterey Bay, looking from Pacific Grove to Santa Cruz...
Sometimes it's easy to forget that Lake Ontario is a freshwater lake. It's so big that you can't see the other side from ground level (though I could from my 5th floor condo). It has tides, too. Loking across, I'm often reminded of the ocean. Usually the North Atlantic.
