The son of Parvati, Lord Ganesh removes every difficulty and is invoked at the start of any new enterprise.
His attributes include an elephant goad, his broken-off tusk that he used as a pen to write the Mahabharata, a lasso, and a bowl of sweets.
He rides a mouse or rat and is a jolly, good-natured god.
His fourth hand's palm is always extended to bless people.

I dabbled in Hinduism very briefly in my early 20's.
I ran into a roadblock in a portion of the Bhagavad Gita concerning the pain the unborn child is supposed to be in while in it's mothers womb.
Forced to accept the whole or deny it, I had to deny.
I have found it possible to accept he Tibetan variant of Vajrayana Buddhism even though Dainzin Gyaco says you can be a diest and a Buddhist, but not Christian and Bhuddist. This comes from his perception of Christianity as it is commonly taught and practiced and a lack of understanding of old christianity without the trappings of RELIGION.
It's kind of like saying you can't be Republican and Gay.
Of course you can, it just may not be the best of combinations.

I just take dribs and drabs of religion. Too non conformist to follow anyone else's rules.
Just hope if I do unto others as I would have them do unto me, that things might work out in the long run.
