Darn, I just saw a robin on my fencepost I didn't snap it. Could've joined the series.
Nice pic Gary!

Henri
I saw them when I was in Germany and I just double checked with Avibase and they list the American Robin as being in Germany.
Maybe they just aren't in the part of Germany where you are (where ever that is)
At the very least you have the European Robin

Nice Pic Gary,

Are you running standard firmware on your 300D?

Paul: I'm running the "undutchables" hack.

I may install it.
All I really want is the ISO kick and the lockup.
Does it change the general operation of the camera in a significant way?
What I mean is would a user notice any real noticable differences in automatic or manual modes?

Paul: There is no real difference to the "out-of-the-box" features. The left-arrow button is mapped to autofocus (AF One Shot, AF AI, and non-functional AF Servo), the "set" button can be mapped to a number of functions, but the other additional features are all accessed through a new Custom Functions item on the setup menu.

I might flash it this weekend then.
The set button can be mapped, but doesn't have to be correct?
Am I right in thinking tha AF can be turned on and off through a button?

True, the set button doesn't have to be mapped. AF can be toggled between One Shot (AF OS) and Artificial Intelligence (AF AI, the 300D default). The AF Servo option appears, but it *does not* work -- this is documented.

As a workaround, AF Servo works in "Sports" mode, and the hack lets you set the image quality to RAW in all modes.

And the ability to have RAW and full size jpeg at the same time if I recall, I might like that.

UnDutchables 0.2.3 looks like the last and final version
