New York Wedding

So, all of this excess goes back to the Depression.
My grandmother once told me that the larger the wedding and
the more well-fed the guests are, the better-off the family was perceived by the guests.
There were about ten pieces of flatware I used at my cousin's wedding
along with plates that were put out only for decoration.
A separate dessert was placed on the same plate as the wedding cake.

I love weddings. It's as if our own wedding is re-newed when we sit together and glance at each other as we hear another couple get married.
I know, I'm a hopeless romantic.
