No eroticism present

Me in a photo booth 10 years ago.If societal values cause the viewer to assign their meaning to my pic - is it my fault? There was no arousal present when the booth and I hooked up.

yes, how many computers saved it?

Because - "it's okay for a man to show his breast but not a woman."

jozee: who says it's not OK? Here in Ontario it's perfectly legal for a woman to show her breasts in public. No eroticism present — the law was enacted for the benefit of nursing mothers.

On the other hand, there are a lot of men who shouldn't be showing their breasts in public.

I'm happy you talk about that because I've been thinking about posting nudity a lot in the last weeks, and discussing it with my sis too. My thinking is:

I'd love to try to do nude pics. I have no model for the moment, so I try some with my own body. And my thinking made me decide that I was going to post, but without saying it is me, because I want people to look at the pic as a nude, as art, not at me in particular.

Then, I saw some arguments opposite to the fact of nudity. And now, for me, it's kind of a social point.

And OMG, if the pic is good, what the ek! (sorry, I dont know how to spell ek)

Jozee: So does architecture. Ask Prince Charles :-D

The late, great art historian Kenneth Clark wrote that a well-executed nude, whether it be sculpture or painting (or, I suppose, photography) should stir an erotic response in the beholder. But reading between the lines, I think he intended that to be a more subtle and refined feeling than just plain horniness.

You're right Gary. It's not bad to find a pic erotic. The respond of the public is a thing. And the intention of the artist is another thing.

In other words, finding something erotic doesn't mean that the artist had the intention of doing something erotic.
