Before, as seen on merlinprincesse's blog:

After some photoshop tweaks to even the contrast and darken the sky:

Very subtle difference but very nice!

Mmmmmm..... Gary..... It is a very old pic.... From 1976 (You weren't even born... mwhahahahahaha!) A slide in fact. And there was NO sky.... All white. I created one with Photoshop.... You know I like my pics very contrasted! *teehee*. And sometimes, I add some little details that are not really there... Cheating? NOPE. CREATION! My camera is only a tool. Like my brushes and my paint... I know you are a purist.... And you prefer unchanged photos. :))))) Different ways of seeing things. Both are correct. Like your version of my pic. Mine is OK. Yours is too. :) Thats the beauty of life. As Spock would say: " Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations".

Jozee: Subtle, indeed. Just some minor dynamic range adjustments to match how your eyes would perceive the scene.

MP: I was indeed born in 1976, and looking forward to the end of high school.

I may be something of a purist, but I'm not above a little photoshop to help out the camera: Contrast masking to increase the dynamic range; Unsharp masking to increase local detail, Gaussian blur overlay to mimic a soft-focus filter; white-to-transparent gradient masking to mimic a split neutral-density filter.

Unlike yourself, I have little talent for illustration. So no brushes and paint involved, just some math on the pixels.

Gary! I think you are talented! I hope you know that! You have THE EYE! And I think you understand all that techno way better than me. :)I am glad to know you use a little bit of photoshopping sometimes... And your secret is safe with moi... BUT.... (there is a but heh heh)... I think that perception is different from one being to another. Not everybody sees the World the same way. I'm sure of that! Damn! I have some difficulties to express what I mean. My English is not perfect. OK Lets just say that my way of creating is probably more intuitive than techno. Not sure I'm telling exactly what I really mean....:(

MP, ton anglais est plus mieux que mon français. Et c'est vrai, on peut voir le monde en quelques façons unique, et chacun peut fair un vision uniquement artistique.

Comprends?
