Hey Melody, I know I'm probably wrong, but those look VERY similar to houses on the Great Highway, down the road from the Cliff House in San Francisco's Sunset District...
Donald you are correct. These are along the Great Highway, between the zoo and Golden Gate Park. We were in California last May for the Big Sur Marathon, and spent 5 days in SF.
Hi Melody, Well, that just makes my day ! I thought the style, and the seagrass in the median looked awfuly familiar... By the way, I hope you enjoyed Big Sur... I grew up (a long time ago) on the Monterey Peninsula (Pacific Grove) which is about 20 miles north of Big Sur... Point Lobos, between Carmel and Big Sur has always been one of my very favorite places -- and a favorite of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston (etc.) also... When I was a kid I actually got to meet with Ansel Adams at his home in the Carmel Highlands a few times -- I was such a bad photog then, but he was very nice to me... Edward Weston has always been my favorite photographer, but of course I never met him... Used to notice the Weston boys on occasion... By the way, I have a little website on Point Lobos over at: www.photoarrow.com/pl if you're interested... Also a webpage of Big Sur shots over at: www.photoarrow.com/small/39bigsurcoastline.html Now, I should be spamming my websites out here on Web-Pix, but consider that my prize for winning the "contest"... Best regards, Don & Kitty -- oh heck -- and Kitty has her own silly blog over at: www.pestbouncer.com

I wonder as to Piet's opinion of this:)
reminds me of the old liz claiborne perfume bottle of the current Lorel styling products! Unusual and cool!
I dig this!
