Morning Magnolia

Our neighbour's tree is finally blooming.

And I'm not so sure I like linking from flickr.

It's big and beautiful. Bursting through the border!

Can size adjustment be made through Flickr? I used to post with Picasa and Hello. See image below. Now if I try to do so all images come out small with no image enlargement option.

I'm lost on this.

Thanks, Jozee. I shot it with my Digital Rebel which uses the classic 3x2 aspect ratio (same as a 4x6" print). Most point-and-shoot digicams use a 4x3 ratio (same as a TV screen).

flickr, smugmug, and other photo hosting sites provide a preset number of sizes for linking and embedding. The actual pixel dimensions vary, but they are typically called Thumbnail, Small, Medium, Large and (sometimes) Original.

You can alter the size in your blog post using a CSS style in the <img> tag, e.g. style="width:300px;height:200px;", but then you're relying on the browser to do the resizing. The results aren't always pleasant.

Thank you Gary. Thanks for camera info as well. Very generous!
