I stopped by Crissy Field near the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday to check out the effects of the recent 58,000 gallon bunker-oil spill, but fortunately, from what I could see, this particular area escaped major damage...   Other areas within the bay, and areas as far north as Point Reyes have received globs of oil, plus a sheen of oil over the general area...   Johnson's Oyster Farm at Point Reyes is expecting to be hit with a heavy financial loss -- nobody likes oysters that taste like bunker-oil...

Kitty and I went out yesterday afternoon for a bit of birdwatching... These Mallards will be fine -- if they stay right where they are now... You may have heard about our 58,000 gallon fuel-oil spill from a ship bumping the Bay Bridge... The slick extends out the Golden Gate, fouling all my favorite beaches, north and south... It's a genuine mess...
