Sea Lions at Pier39, San Francisco

^^^ sea lions at big splash welcoming party for my new camera ^^^
It cost an-arm-and-a-leg, but my new Canon5D DSLR has arrived...
It is heavy, but a really nice camera... The lens is the Canon 70--300 image-stabilized, difractive-optic zoom, and I think it will serve me well... Along with 4368x2912 JPGs, it will also generate 14mb RAW images...

Bay to Breakers footrace

I was shooting photos in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district early yesterday when I realized that the wild-and-crazy Bay to Breakers footrace/party was going to pass nearby... By this point in the race everybody was starting to really feel the burn, but nevertheless, everybody seemed to be having a really good time...
